Congress has decided to make senior leader Ramchandra Paudel as the presidential candidate. An official informed that the meeting of the central performance committee held at the party central office in Sanepa on Saturday morning decided to make Paudel the presidential candidate.

The 8-party meeting with the CPN-Maoist Center on Friday night agreed to support the Congress candidate for the presidency. CPN-Maoist Center, CPN United Socialist Party, Janata Samajwadi Party, Democratic Socialist Party, Janmaat Party, Civil Liberation Party and Rashtriya Morcha Party have agreed to support Congress in the presidential election.
