The top leaders of the two parties met on Sunday as the presidential election was approaching. Sources said that there was a meeting between the presidents of the two parties in Maharajganj on Sunday afternoon. UML President Oli has proposed Nepal to be a presidential candidate with party unity. After the party split, the meeting between Oli and Nepal is seen as meaningful when the controversy is raging on a personal level. After rebelling from UML, senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal formed CPN Unified Socialist Party in August 2078. UML President Oli has also proposed the president of United Socialist Nepal, respected leader Jhalnath Khanal, to be a presidential candidate. Similarly, Oli has the same proposal to Nepal Samajwadi Party chairman Baburam Bhattarai.
