What is an input device?

An input device is any hardware component that allows you to enter data or commands into a computer or other electronic device. Examples of input devices include keyboards, mice, touchpads, touchscreens, stylus pens, scanners, digital cameras, microphones, and game controllers.

Input devices convert physical actions or analog signals, such as keystrokes, mouse movements, finger touches, voice commands, or images, into digital signals that a computer can interpret and process. The input data is then used by software programs to perform various tasks, display information, or communicate with other devices.
