After 9 months, printing of driving license will start, all will be completed by January

We will make arrangements to send the license at home through post: Minister Yadav

The government has resumed printing of driver’s license (smart license) which was stopped from February, 2077 BS. Printing of licenses has resumed at the Department of Transport Management in the presence of Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Renukumari Yadav.

The government had stopped printing and distribution of licenses of non-essential service recipients due to lack of license printing card. In the first week of last December, the French company had provided 1.4 million cards to the department. After conducting the necessary tests, the license is printed on the card.

Namaraj Ghimire, director general of the transport management department, claimed that all the remaining licenses could be printed by mid-January. He claims that about 450,000 licenses are yet to be printed.

The department has said that 8,000 cards will be printed daily in three shifts. The department has started giving ‘paper’ licenses to those who have passed the trial, saying it is a trial period for one year. The department claims that the license will be issued to the renewers within a month.
